Hello 2010!

How are you? We Trust you had a good Christmas and New Year? Excellent, glad to hear it…

As for us, we’ve been very busy up here in snowy Leeds, writing and working on lots of new songs and thinking about what 2010 will bring. We’re so excited about what we’ve got in store for you it’s making our heads spin. New singles, the debut album, extensive UK touring and even some shows abroad, festivals, and of course, lots and lots and lots of new material. Seriously. I’m getting dizzy…

So, to kick things off in style, we wanted to give all you wonderful people who’ve supported us throughout 2009 (and possibly before that too…) a little New Year’s gift, being as we forgot to get you anything for Christmas… By clicking on the link below, you will be whisked away on an all-expenses-paid trip to our shiny new website where you will be able to download a brand new track FOR FREE! Entitled “Bracelet”, it’s your chance to finally own the fabled lost b-side to last year’s single “Artificial Clouds”…

Of course, we were going to get you all a Jumper and a pair of socks, but we ran out of time. Sorry. We hope this will do…

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD “BRACELET – TIGERS THAT TALKED”

But, before you jet off, we just want to remind you that our first gig of 2010 is next Saturday, 16th Jan in the Brudenell Social Club, Leeds. Supporting the excellent Saxon Shore, of ex-Fleet Foxes fame, we’re really excited to get back on stage and play you some brand new tracks for the very first time! Advance tickets are available here – http://www.seetickets.com/see/price.asp?code=435627 - and more details will follow closer to the date. Come on Leeds, you know you want to…

By the way, did you know that 2010 is the Year of the Tiger? True Story. Bring it on…

Love

Tigers x

Hello Friends…

Hope you’re all well out there, wherever you may be. First off on the Tigers’ blog agenda, we want to offer a massive apology to anyone who was planning on coming to the Loud and Live in Libraries gig this Saturday with Alessi’s Ark, we’d been really looking forward to it for weeks and were genuinely devastated that it couldn’t go ahead. For those of you who don’t know, the chosen venue, Morecambe Library, was vandalised the night before we were due to play there, with doors pulled off hinges, windows smashed and other general mindless destruction visited upon the place. We hope that the library itself has managed to recover by now, and we have assurances from the promoter that the same gig, with the same lineup, will hopefully be rescheduled for some time in the New Year. So don’t worry Morecambe, we’ll be back, we promise…

Talking of future gigs, our next is down in London Town, supporting the Brute Chorus at the Hawley Arms, Camden on Monday 7th Dec. We’re excited that this gig is a charity affair, with all proceeds going to the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Association, a great organisation that uses the power of music as a therapy for individuals affected by illness, disability, trauma and isolation. Find out about all the great work they do here. More information for the gig night, named ‘Apocalypstick’, can be found here. See you there? Hope so…

Finally, our latest single, Artificial Clouds, has received more great reviews, including one from NME features editor Mr. James McMahon! Take a Look:

Finally, Jamie was interviewed about the band by This is Fake DIY last week, and ended up talking about mobile phones and restaurant menus. Yes, we know… Check it out here.

Hey Guys,

We just wanted to tell you about a couple of last minute gigs coming up this week…

We will be supporting the fantastic Broken Records in York on Tuesday (3rd November) and Bristol on Friday (6th November) and it’d be great to see you there!

Broken Records formed two years ago in Edinburgh and have played a number of festivals over the summer, including Latitude, T in the Park and Leeds Festival. These led to NME hailing them as “one of the country’s most exciting new bands” and Channel 4 dedicating a show to them as part of Levis Ones To Watch.

These are gigs not to miss – you’ll have to pay considerably more next year to see these guys!

3rd November – The Duchess, York (7 The Stonebow, York, YO1 7NP)

6th November – The Cooler, Bristol (8 Park St, Bristol, BS1 5JG)

Also, we now have a brand new website up and running, so keep your eyes firmly fixed on http://www.tigersthattalked.co.uk/ for new blogs, updates and news…

Thanks for all your support over the last few weeks, hope to see you again soon!

Hey Guys!

Hope you’re all well…

Firstly, we’d like to say a big thankyou to Steve Lamacq and his Radio 6 team for having us on last Wednesday. It was great to meet him, especially after he has been so complimentary about our music, and we really enjoyed our little chat. For those of you who missed our BBC Radio debut, catch Jamie and Owain discussing the Band’s origins, lyrical meanings and gin consumption here before it’s taken off the iplayer…

Also, we’d just like to remind you all of our FIRST EVER acoustic set, tomorrow night at The Packhorse, 208 Woodhouse Lane, Leeds! We’re really excited about trying out our songs in a new format, and we’re also playing with our great friends Arthur Rigby and the Baskervylles, so come on down and join in the fun…

Finally, we’ve got a shiny new website up and running over at www.tigersthattalked.co.uk , so be sure to check it out. From there you can find links to our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and all other social networking accounts, so head on over and check it out!

Hopefully see you all soon,
Much Love

Hello There,

Thanks for all your amazing support at all our gigs from this tour, we have played some great venues to great crowds and have really enjoyed meeting you all!

We are very pleased to finally announce that our new single, Artificial Clouds, has come out today on download only. It was featured in yesterday’s Sunday Times as one of the hottest downloads this week and was described as “A shimmering, violin-flecked pastoral pop beauty” (18.10.09).

Steve Lamacq let slip that it was “the most played single at Lamacq Towers” and that, “if you give it three listens, it’ll give you a lifetime of love” (BBC Radio 2, 14.10.09).

So you can purchase your copy from and all other good online retailers for about the same price as a King Size Lion Bar. Which would you prefer?

The release also features the B Side “Bracelet” which many of you will have heard us play at our live shows.

Enjoy and we’ll see you soon! Remember to keep your eyes on Myspace for new blogs and updates, and sign up to our mailing list if you want these updates emailed directly to you…

Friends!

Firstly, can we say a big thank you to everyone who came down to the Single Launch at the Cockpit on Wednesday, it was a great night and you were a wonderful audience. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we hope that you did too. Thanks also to Laura J Martin and Hey Sholay, two great acts who we’re looking forward to playing with again…

However, Wednesday’s homecoming show by no means signals the end of the long tour road for Tigers, oh my no. Next stop is Manchester this weekend, where we’re incredibly excited to be playing two shows during the ‘In The City’ festival. Firstly, we will be playing a TOP-SECRET fringe show for some friends on Sunday 18th, mysterious details of which will emerge over the next few days. Keep your eyes peeled for hints and clues on our Myspace, Facebook and Twitter pages…

After that, though, we’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ve been added to the bill of the FutureSounds showcase, on Tuesday 20th at Cellar Vie. For those that don’t know, FutureSounds are an amazing independent organisation based out of Los Angeles who are focused on finding and exposing new music throughout the US and further afield.
Tigers are billed onstage at 10.15pm, so stick it in the diary, it’d be great to see you there.

Last, and by no means least, we’re also very excited to have received our first bit of NME coverage this week, in the form of a short, but very sweet, live review of our gig last week at the George Tavern, Whitechapel! If you were there, thank you, we really enjoyed the night, and it seems they did too! Check it out:

Crikey… There’s more gigs in the pipeline, too. We’ll let you know where you can catch us throughout October and November as soon as they’ve been confirmed.

Until then, much love
